Heping mountain in Yiyang

益阳和平山

Heping means peace. The mountain’s name is to commemorate He Fengshan who is considered as Mr. Schindler in China. A memorial cemetery for him is located in the mountain. Descendants of people saved by He Fengshan have left thankful words which were inscribed on steles and formed a corridor.

和平山包括了何凤山纪念墓地及被拯救者后代感言碑廊。和平山的名字主要是为了纪念“中国辛德勒”何凤山先生。

Xie Bingying’s former residence in Lengshuijiang City

冷水江市谢冰莹故居侨务文化交流基地

Xie Bingying was a soldier and a writer. She was one of the first female soldiers in modern history and participated in the Northern Expedition. Her literary reputation started with her military diaries and letters, some of which were translated into English by Lin Yutang and published first serially in 1927 and then in book form in 1930.

Liuzi Temple in Yongzhou

永州柳子庙

The temple is dedicated to Liu Zongyuan, a Chinese writer and poet who lived during the Tang Dynasty. He used to be an officer in Yongzhou. The temple is located in Lingling District and is classified as an AAAA scenic area by the China National Tourism Administration. It covers an area of 1800 square kilometres.

柳宗元文化旅游区位于零陵城区，是国家AAAA级旅游业景区，总面积1800平方公里。

Nüshu script museum in Jiangyong

江永女书生态博物馆

Nüshu is a syllabic script, a very different variation of Chinese characters that was used exclusively among women in Jiangyong. It is an original and unique creation worldwide. Nüshu is included in the first batch of National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

女书，和一般汉字不一样，是永州女性专用的一种特殊表音文字体系，入选了中国第一批国家级非物质文化遗产名录。

Cishi Tower in Yueyang

岳阳慈氏塔

It is said that the tower was built during Tang Dynasty and was repaired during Song Dynasty. It was a 39 metres high octagonal-base pagoda tower with 7 floors and was built of stone and brick.

相传是建于唐代的古塔，宋朝修缮，为砖石结构，楼阁式，八角七层，通高39米。

Meichi Village in Yang Lousi County，Linxiang County

临湘县羊楼司镇梅池村

The village is located in Longjiao Mountain. It is the national ecological civilized village. Its Wengqin Opera has been designated the National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

临湘市羊楼司镇梅池村地处龙窖山，是国家生态文明村，梅池村嗡琴戏荣获国家级非物质文化遗产。

Lao Sicheng is the oldest, biggest and the most complete historical site that carried out the Chieftain system in China.

Xiang Jingyu Memorial Hall

向警予同志纪念馆

Xiang Jingyu Memorial Hall is located in Xupu County. It consists of Xiang Jingyu’s former residence, the exhibition of his life stories，Xiang Jingyu Bronze Statue Square.

向警予纪念馆位于溆浦县，由向警予故居、向警予生平事迹陈列、向警予铜像广场三部分组成。

Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon

张家界大峡谷景区

Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge stretches 430 metres long and 6 metres wide, hovering about a 300-meter vertical drop. It is the longest and tallest glass bottomed bridge in the world.

张家界大峡谷玻璃桥全长430米，桥面宽6米，桥面距谷底约300米，是目前世界最长、最高的全透明玻璃桥。
