After passing remote inspection by the Yongzhou Customs Authority, 1,800 boxes of Daoxian navel oranges weighing 25.2 tonnes departed for the United Arab Emirates on January 8, 2026. This marked the first export of Yongzhou citrus to the country.
A spokesperson of the Yongzhou fruit exporter introduced that Daoxian County ranks among China's most suitable regions for citrus cultivation. The area produces diverse, high-quality, and high-yield citrus varieties. Local fruit farmers are eager to transform their "golden fruit" into a "fruit of prosperity."The Yongzhou Customs Authority has provided whole process services to support navel orange export, guiding enterprises in establishing comprehensive quality and safety management systems while facilitating registration for export orchards and packing facilities. Addressing the short shelf life and tight transport timelines of fresh fruits, the customs authority has opened green channels for immediate inspection and rapid clearance upon declaration. Through cloud-based issuance, phytosanitary certificates are generated online, allowing for customs clearance within 30 minutes.
The Yongzhou Customs Authority stated that it will periodically survey export demands for agricultural and food products within its jurisdiction, streamline the "green channels" for inspection of fresh and perishable agricultural goods, and promote more Yongzhou specialty agricultural products to the global markets.
